A quick shot of a subway car. I tried not to be too obvious about it... I shot some video in the metro stations as well, but that will probably have to wait for editing and such before I upload.

Stuffed in an out of the way corner of a metro station. I think this station was the Belorusskaya Station. Today is January 6th (Christmas Eve on the Russian Orthodox Calendar) and I'm out and about trying to find Yaroslavskiy Railroad Station - I know it's just of of the Komsomalshaya metro station, but I figure I should find it since I don't want to go searching at the last minute and miss my train...

Boy, we export everything, don't we?

Well... this is NOT the Yaroslavskiy Railroad Station - it's the Kazanskiy station. There are three giant stations all bunched together - really, you could throw a rock and hit all of them from the center of the street. I wandered around in this one for a while looking for signs that the 004 train to Pekin (Beijing) would depart from this station... Nyet. I asked a Russian woman, "Yaroslavskiy?" She said "Nyet, Kazanskiy." Ah ha, it must be the one across the street. And isn't my Russian improving?

The Leningradskiy Railroad Station.

The Komsomolskaya Metro Station - the Leningradskiy Rail station is just to the left of this building, while the Yaroslavskiy Station is to the right.

Not that I'm a huge Russian or Moscow expert, but this is the first time I've seen somebody towed. Parking in this city is nuts - if the entire street is full, and there's no parking remaining on the curb, folks just drive up on the sidewalk and park. Crazy. Guess this guy must have blocked the wrong car, huh? There was a line of these tow trucks just waiting to tow away a dozen cars.

And you just know they drop one every now and again. But not today.

Ah ha! This is the Yaroslavskiy Rail Station. I wandered around inside for a bit and saw enough to convince me that this is where the #4 train to China will depart.
